When my doctor told me I was real close to prediabetes and needed a C-PAP, I knew I needed to improve my relationship with food to change my health to be there for my growing family.
I learned a lot about food labels, myself, listening to hunger queues, and what a portion size looks like.
I was pumped I didn't need a C-PAP anymore, though I'm kind of bummed my favorite belt doesn't fit anymore.

I was frustrated with the ongoing cycle of losing weight and gaining it back . I have developed a positive mindset around food and fitness. My cholesterol numbers have dropped to normal ranges and are the best they’ve been in 20 years! What I once thought was my main goal has been overshadowed by so many other good things. I’ve lost pounds and inches, and I’m wearing smaller sizes. Best of all, I feel great. I feel younger!
My biggest takeaway is that it’s not about the number on the scale. There are so many measures of progress, and it all starts with a healthy mindset. I did not know the importance of protein and the amount I should have daily. I was amazed at how my cravings for my favorite snacks/foods went away when the protein went up. Consistency with “all the things” is what helped me make progress toward my goals.
